Our culture
In January 2011, after years of being kicked out of commercial gyms, a group of like minded iron renegades came together to form 22nd street barbell. Founded on old school powerlifting principles, the team went underground (literally) to grind out heavy rep after heavy rep in a training facility proudly referred to as “ The Dungeon”.
